Puppy training

WHAT SHOULD THE PUPPY LEARN

Go for a walk

If you follow the advice below, you should be able to house train your puppy fairly quickly. You have to be aware that the little ones are not yet able to stop and will relieve themselves quite quickly when they need to go for a walk.

After every feeding, drinking and sleeping, take your puppy out to his walking spot. This spot should be a grassy area. Walk with him for a while and when he has been for a walk...praise him profusely. The puppy will be happy about it and associate it with good feelings.

At first, pick up your pet and carry him outside.

If you get your things ready at night, you can get going more quickly if the puppy gets restless. You should also carry him to the door. Experience shows that it won't take long for him to sleep through the night.

Pay attention to whether he starts to make himself known when he has to. If he does, you should always react quickly.

making experiences

This is also part of training. Let him experience his surroundings and introduce him to other people, animals and nature. However, please avoid forcing him to go on walks that are miles long.

Bite inhibition

Teaching the puppy bite inhibition is one of the most important tasks that should be learned during the imprinting period. If your puppy bites too hard with its sharp milk teeth so that it hurts, make yourself known by showing it that it hurts and that you don't like it at all. If the little rascal doesn't stop, take him to his playpen or another place and ignore him. The little ones don't like being ignored and don't feel very comfortable because he has just been excluded from his pack. He will notice this and change his behavior. Don't let the puppy get away with anything in this matter.

Stay alone

It is important for a good and balanced dog to be able to let his or her owner go sometimes and then see it as normal.

Because, of course, it is not possible to be there for your dog all the time throughout his life. If he has learned to be left alone for short or temporary periods from the start, you will be able to relax and go shopping and trust your dog with peace of mind.

Practice being alone when he is tired from playing, for example, and take him to his resting place. Leave the puppy a chew bone or something similar and then leave him alone for half an hour. Since he will be tired anyway, he should fall asleep fairly quickly. When you go back to him, you can pet him briefly without being particularly happy to see him again and everything will continue to be normal.
